Why did you choose to work at Comdata?
I am the UK Marketing Manager at Comdata, responsible for increasing brand awareness, generating leads, managing the Linkedin page and organising events, trade shows and exhbitions. I chose to work at Comdata as I felt that it would be a great place to enhance my skill set and challenge myself in a new industry that I was not familiar with.
Seeing success and growth is what makes the role rewarding. A year ago we were not as well established in the UK market as we are today. A lot of work has gone into social media, PR and exhibitions to get our name recognized as leaders in the BPO industry in the UK and I feel extremely proud to be part of that growth.
How have you developed your skills since joining the company?
I have developed my skills by being exposed to different areas of Marketing and Sales.
For example, I was given the opportunity to manage the Comdata App and content creation for all Comdata markets across the world. This gives me a great insight into the other markets and also helps me raise my profile.
I have also been given the responsibility of getting involved with events at a group level and assisting with international webinars and summits. This broadens my experience beyond the UK team and gives me a better understanding of the wider teams.
You work part-time. Can you say more about that, and how Comdata and you make it work successfully?
I currently work at Comdata UK 3 days a week from Tuesday to Thursday. This gives me great flexibility and the perfect work/home life balance. I have two small children so it is great to have two days off a week to drop them at school, pick them up, and have time in between to go to the gym or meet friends for lunch.
Comdata has helped me ensure that this works successfully. All my colleagues are aware of my working hours and are always flexible to fit in meetings around my schedule. In return, I am also flexible with my days and If I need to swap days on a certain week if we have an event or a conference, I am happy to do this.
A good work-life balance helps give me drive and motivation; these are positive things which benefit my life at work and at home.
